Dia Beta Labs is a spinout from Ulster University with a portfolio of novel therapeutics for the treatment of metabolic diseases including diabetes and obesity. Founder and CEO Ryan Lafferty developed the lead asset during his postdoctoral research within the Diabetes Research Group at Ulster University.

In a market currently dominated by high-profile drugs such as Wegovy and Ozempic, DBL’s lead candidate promises similar benefits without the harmful side effects or long-term complications.

DSW Ventures led a £1.2m funding round with support from QUBIS Limited and leveraged grant funding through Innovate UK’s Future Economy Partnership programme.
